For my nephews birthday last August I purchased an interactive talking globe for him. I wanted to purchase something that would be educational, yet also fun. His mother tells me that he loves to sit in front of this globe and push the buttons to get it to talk — he is only seven years old, so geography and related subjects are something brand-new to him. He really thinks of this globe as a toy — but his mother and I know better: it is really a learning tool. We’ve already noticed the effects — he is much more comfortable in answering questions related to geography, and his grades in that subject have gone from a C to an A.
