Some of us get into map making just because we like to explore and want to be able to share our experiences with those around us and for all time to come. We were always taking long hikes through the woods and exploring areas we were supposed to probably not be, but it never stopped us. And as we went, we would pretend that we were like Louis and Clark, our most famous american explorers who discovered the Pacific Ocean. The tales of their exploits always seemed to get us into trouble at school because we would be dreaming about an adventure in some mystical land.
