Microwave Grape Plasma
Home March 22nd. 2009, 5:23amThis is one of the most common microwave experiments nearly every student knows about. It is indeed fascinating to see how a small little grape produces beautiful sparks inside the microwave oven due to dielectric currents. Two grapes together can produce arches. However, it is quite a dangerous experiment especially if the water content in the grape dries out. I am thinking, though, it might be a better way of determining how good a microwave is instead of reading microwave reviews: a good microwave shouldn’t dry out the water content too fast. Just my hypothesis though, I might be wrong. What do you think?
