Had the opportunity to do a dance workshop recently, it was so amazing. It’s great watching these professional dancers dancing the way they do, and then teaching you how to do the same.

Learning some of those moves you see on MTV videos and then trying them out for yourself. There were quite a lot of people in the dance workshops but it was okay as it worked out cheaper for everyone taking part.

Definitely worth the money if only to learn those moves. You need a lot of energy and concentration though to keep up for 2 hours. Just need to keep on telling yourself you can do it.

I have a 7 year old girl named Hanna and she is all about unicorns right now. So for her eighth birthday next week I am going to surprise her with a total kids wall art unicorn remodel of her room. While she is at her party I am having a good contractor friend of mine come over to the house and make her room over with lots of unicorn wall decals and some new purple wall borders. She is also getting a new unicorn bedding ensemble that she will flip over. I can’t wait to see her face when she gets home.

My sister loves to follow the celebrities and their social and personal lives. I, however, don’t seem to find the whole thing very interesting. When I see all the time she spends listening and reading about the latest celebrity gossip I am overwhelmed by the time commitment. I just have too much going on in my own life to fully appreciate it, I guess. It’s so cool that you can learn something like street dance indoors inside the safe confines of a dance studio. Even though it’s ’street’ dance you can learn it like a science in dance classes.

This is a great opportunity for those of us not with the ‘in crowd’ who can dance, DJ and do just about everything that’s cool. It’s good that people are willing to teach this to anyone and it’s not down to who you know.

And it’s a good thing that it’s learnt inside a dance studio so you can perfect it indoors first before taking it to the streets. 

When I think of disco dancing. I think of my sister’s 1978 wedding.

My sister wants everything perfect, and especially her wedding. She made sure each part of the ceremony and reception were perfect, and that included the dancing.

She and her future husband, as well as the wedding party, signed up for wedding dancing lessons. Back then that usually meant the lessons would include the hustle and a few other trendy steps.

After those lessons, the reception looked like something out of a bad movie. The girls had huge feathered hair, ruffles on their dresses, and very tall shoes.

The guys also had tall shoes, and pastel tuxedos.

As we all expertly hustled and bumped the night away, the only thing missing was a big silver ball hanging from the ceiling.

My sister went traveling around the world and had so many experiences while she was traveling. One of the things she returned with was a sitar. Not only that, it was a lefty sitar, because she is a lefty. I don’t know if she loves it so much because the sitar reminds her of her travels, or if it is because it is specially made for a left-handed person. I remember being ten years old. My family piled into my step-dad’s van, and we went to the drive-in to see the new batman movie that had been getting rave reviews. It was exciting. People had stood in line for days to buy tickets to the movie, and we were going to see it opening weekend. Since then, there have been several sequels to the original Batman Movie, with a change in cast from Michael Keaton as Batman and Jack Nicholson as the Joker, to a young Christian Bale as Batman and the now-deceased Heath Ledger as the joker.
