Disco Wedding

Arts No Comments »

When I think of disco dancing. I think of my sister’s 1978 wedding.

My sister wants everything perfect, and especially her wedding. She made sure each part of the ceremony and reception were perfect, and that included the dancing.

She and her future husband, as well as the wedding party, signed up for wedding dancing lessons. Back then that usually meant the lessons would include the hustle and a few other trendy steps.

After those lessons, the reception looked like something out of a bad movie. The girls had huge feathered hair, ruffles on their dresses, and very tall shoes.

The guys also had tall shoes, and pastel tuxedos.

As we all expertly hustled and bumped the night away, the only thing missing was a big silver ball hanging from the ceiling.

My sister went traveling around the world and had so many experiences while she was traveling. One of the things she returned with was a sitar. Not only that, it was a lefty sitar, because she is a lefty. I don’t know if she loves it so much because the sitar reminds her of her travels, or if it is because it is specially made for a left-handed person. Now my grandson who is a lefty wants to get one as well. Luckily I went to www.yourworldinstruments.com and found a left-handed sitar. The sitars are individually made, so each one is unique, with varied decorations and colors.

Memories of a Batman Movie

I remember being ten years old. My family piled into my step-dad’s van, and we went to the drive-in to see the new batman movie that had been getting rave reviews. It was exciting. People had stood in line for days to buy tickets to the movie, and we were going to see it opening weekend. Since then, there have been several sequels to the original Batman Movie, with a change in cast from Michael Keaton as Batman and Jack Nicholson as the Joker, to a young Christian Bale as Batman and the now-deceased Heath Ledger as the joker. Whatever your age now, most people in my generation can relate to the Batman movies. I know I am eagerly awaiting the release of the latest Batman movie on dvd!

The online schools and their graphic design course syllabus.

Arts No Comments »

All of the online schools that people register for to become a graphic artist, all have a graphic design course syllabus. When a person registers for the graphic design course, they get a list of the classes that they have to take in order to get their graphic artist certificate or degree. This list of classes is called the syllabus of the program. The schools give this to the students in order to the students to know exactly what kind of classes they are going to have to take and to help the student know about how much time it will take them to get through the course.

It could be information to promote, publicise or advertise a certain product, service or topic. Many graphic designers work in print, periodicals, advertising or other related fields. Whether you are designing a CD cover or the label on a can of spinach, you will still be doing basically the same thing. Does anyone know of a good one?

I really want to get some things to help with redoing my house. I am just not finding everything I want, and I was wondering if there was an interior design store someone could recommend that would help me find the things I wanted. I have just moved to the area, and I really don’t know what is available here in regard to interior design supplies. I just want to improve the looks of my house, and I would like to do it as soon as possible rather than waiting until I can find a good store. Maybe an online interior decorating store would be best.

Preparing For A Quilling Project

Arts No Comments »

We all work in different ways but there are some things we all need to do when preparing to begin a new piece of quilling.  The most important thing we need to do is to gather together all the tools and materials we will need.  Now, this sounds very obvious and it is, but there is nothing more frustrating than to run out of material or to find a tool is missing after you have already begun to work.  So make sure you have lots of material to hand and every tool you will need for the project.  The other thing you need is time!  Make sure you have cleared enough time from your day to finish the project without having to rush.

Find a wedding photographer in West Yorkshire

Arts No Comments »

For many months now I have been planning my wedding, a fall wedding that is. Everything seemed to be going in the direction that I wanted until it was time to find the best photographer in the business. I searched and searched until one day a friend of mine told me about this one company who specialized in wedding photography in West Yorkshire. This company known as Breeze Images takes pride in capturing the individual’s essence on film. I have decided that I am going to have Breeze Images photograph my wedding because I want to capture these moments and freeze them in time.

great groomsmen and best man presents

Great groomsmen and best man presents would have to be high end. Something like cufflinks would be quite appropriate. A personalized set of leather wrapped pens. Or something unique that though they may never use, they will forever keep and remember, something like a silver brushed pocket watch. I know growing up I would see my grandfather having one of those and I just thought it would the coolest ever. It can be personalized or just saved as an heirloom. Whatever the case, it is a special gift and I know it will bring everyone some pleasant nostalgic memories, and it is a gift that will remain for a very long time.

Music recording training opens up career opportunities

Arts No Comments »

If you want to work in the music industry then you need to have the right qualifications and contacts. One of the first things that I examined prior to embarking on a music career was to work out which direction I wanted to take. Music recording training is essential. The great thing about many of today’s courses is that you get on the job experience as part of your course schedule. This gives you the ability to network and meet new friends. Using these new contacts can really lead to some great opportunities. If you show promise during your work experience it can open up some doors for you to pursue when your training finishes.

Starting to feel like a Pro

I got this new Digital Retouching program and am getting pretty got at using it. I have lots of very old family pictures and am scanning them to the computer. This program lets me retouch them where I need to. While it may be true the they aren’t originals when I am done but some of them are even better than the originals I started with. I can fix pictures that are faded or all wrinkled. This is my first attempt to retouch black and white pictures and I am loving the experience. Some of the family say a pro couldn’t do any better than I have.

Television

I have watched a variety of shows based in Hawaii and I have to say that they inspired me to get some Hawaiian Arm Tattoos. I have about a quarter sleeve left to go on my arm and I have been searching for the artwork that would compliment my existing work. I like to get a tattoo on every vacation I take so I think my next vacation will be to Hawaii. Some of the shows based in Hawaii have men with some solid arm tattoos that I think I will bring down a little towards my forearm for a bit of a new look.

A Nicer Commute

Arts No Comments »

Usually when I am on my way to work there is nothing good on the radio, so I end up listening to audio books on ipod. That way I get my “reading” done, and I have a more enjoyable commute. I hate listening to the chatter on the radio in the morning when they are mainly just gossiping about famous people and talking about the traffic and the weather. I love books, but I really don’t have a lot of time to read anymore so audio books are a good solution for me, though I still think it is nicer to curl up with a good book and read it myself.
