Plastic Training Videos Are The New Best Practice for Employee Training
Business February 28th. 2008, 7:10pmIt used to be when a company wanted to train their employees, they had to take them off the production floor for some classroom training then give them further training on the production floor that was specific to their ultimate job responsibilities. There’s two problems with this. First, the employee being trained was not producing any product for the company and was therefore costing the company money. Second, an experienced employee needed to be being tied up training new employee instead of doing their normal job. So the company gets hit with a double inefficiency. In the plastics industry, companies have solved this problem by providing their training using plastic training videos.
This approach to training streamlines the training process tremendously for both the employee and employer. The employee gets to learn one-on-one with the computer and make as many mistakes as they need to ultimately understand the training material. The employer doesn’t have to use experienced people to train the new employees and therefore doesn’t lose any efficiency out of the production floor. It also reduces the need for a training department at the company.
